Thunder bowl will be reopening June 26th at 12 lane capacity at 11am on a first come first serve basis. Please be patient as these are trying times and respect social distancing. We have painted cleaned and sanitized the entire building and can't wait to see everyone. As you know this will be the new normal until we get through this pandemic. With the new guidelines we try to ask if you are not bowling please don't come and hang out and watch . Hopefully things can change sooner than later. Today a letter was sent to JB Pritzker from the Illinois BPA representing all of the bowling centers in Illinois (I will provide a link to the letter in the com...ments below). Bowling centers will only be allowed to have 50 customers during phase 4, regardless of amount of lanes. So a 50 lane center such as Orland Bowl can only have 1 person per lane...Stardust in Addison has 84 lanes yikes. In our case, Lynwood Bowl has 16 lanes, so we wont be AS effected, but still crushed. We host 50 or more league bowlers every night of the week for about 9 months of the year...it is guaranteed income and without it we would not be able to stay in business. Phase 5 in Illinois would allow us to return to normal, however per the Illinois website, phase 5 will not happen until there is a vacine available or zero cases reported over an extended time. Neither of these scenarios will happen until 2021. In the meantime, every center in Illinois will miss league season which starts in August...which in turn will mean permanent closures statewide of all bowling centers. We cannot go against the law, as we would have liquor, gaming, and business licenses pulled. We write this because we need your help...we need as many people possible to send emails to JB and any other person of influence and explain why this can not stand. Thunder bowl would like to wish the speedy recovery to one of our bowling family members. All thoughts and prayers go out to this persons family and friends. We are closed for at least the next 2 weeks and are doing a deep clean and preventing anyone from getting sick. Please keep this persons thoughts and prayers in mind as we go through these terrible times.
