I have a whole new appreciation for this hymn after watching this version of We Three Kings! Happy Epiphany to you and to your whole family! God is with us! Jesus is Emmanuel. Fr. Jeremy
7AM Mass
Jesus turned water into wine and on the day of your baptism you were changed by being baptized into Him by the Spirit. Do you know the date of your holy baptism? The day of your transformation into Christ.
Let us pray for our country that peace and civility may reign in this time of transition! Jesus is the way to true peace, a peace no one can take away. Let us be his instruments of peace!
A worthwhile read for all of us to discover a new or for the first time the greatest saint in modern times!
"Everyone who breathes ... has a mission, has a work. We are not sent into this world for nothing; we are not born at random. ... God sees every one of us; He creates every soul ... for a purpose. As Christ has His work, we too have ours; as He rejoiced to do His work, we must rejoice in ours also." - St. John Neumann (Bishop 1811-1860)
I would highly recommend this podcast! Download and Enjoy!

Will we go to the Christ Child with joyful anticipation like the Magi to receive the newness of God or remain closed in on ourselves like Herod who preferred the status quo?

Two seminarians of the Diocese of Peoria are staying at the parish for part of their Christmas break: For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). JohnPaul Stedwill (photo on the left): Hello, my name is JohnPaul Stedwill and I’m a first-year seminarian studying for the Diocese of Peoria. I’m originally from Dunlap, IL, and my home parish is St. Jude. I graduated last spring from Benedictine College in Kansas wh...ere I studied philosophy and biology. In my spare time I enjoy being outside, reading, and studying ancient languages. After spending the past few years out of Illinois, I’m especially excited to be back in the Diocese of Peoria and spending some of the Advent season with the people of Saint Ann’s parish! Pat Wille (photo on the right): Peace be with you - my name is Pat Wille, and I am in my fourth year of six in formation for the priesthood. I attend Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Maryland. I grew up in Peoria, St. Philomena is my home parish. Prior to entering the seminary, I received a degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and I worked for The Boeing Company in Seattle, St. Louis, and Chicago. I followed the Lord's invitation to follow Him by entering the seminary, and it has been a time of great growth spiritually. Please know that I am available to you for a call, prayers, or whatever you may need - God bless you and be assured of my prayers for you. See more
Friends, Advent is when we reflect upon the arrival of our Savior who came to ransom his people. We cannot think to ourselves, I’m basically fine, spiritually.... Rather, we must be penitent; we must remember our lonely captivity. This liturgical season is about shaping softened hearts, making them ready for our coming King. While we have been and will continue to adhere to all safety protocols to protect our communities, it is also important to protect that fundamental Constitutional right, religious liberty.

Merry Christmas! From the Christ Child, we receive the true light, which we are to bring to others within Peoria’s Historic South Side and beyond.
Only in self-giving does man find himself, and only by opening himself to the other, to others, to children, to the family, only by letting himself be changed through suffering, does he discover the breadth of his humanity. When such commitment is repudiated, the key figures of human existence likewise vanish: father, mother, child essential elements of the experience of being human are lost. Pope Benedict XVI
Penance, Poverty, Joy, and the Souls Orientation Towards God through the transformative power of God’s grace. A reality seen in the holy virginity of Mary.
